Items which are sensitive to heat and humidity, such as photographs, electronics, videotapes, wood furniture and precious heirlooms are best stored in a climate controlled unit.

When storing books, pack them flat in boxes to avoid damage to the spines. Books can be very heavy so try not to pack too many in one box.

Drain gasoline and oil from small engines.

Do not over pack boxes, as they will rupture and topple when stacked.

Make sure all items, especially appliances, are clean and dry before storing. Leave refrigerator doors slightly open.
